Principal, Christina Lincoln-Moore

I am delighted to be the Principal of Cheremoya Avenue Elementary! I feel fortunate to be working with such an exceptional group of students, families, and staff members. I have been an educator in the Los Angeles Unified School District for more than 25 years as a teacher, mathematics advocate, assistant principal, and Constructivist educational leader. As I begin my tenure at Cheremoya, I endeavor to intentionally maintain the close-knit school community whose teachers and leaders customize learning experiences that value our students’ social-emotional development and cultural awareness as much as their academic development.  We believe students’ interests and curiosity yields the intrinsic motivation that leads students on a road of lifelong learning with teachers as facilitators. Our integrated curriculum provides our students with a rich balanced educational experience that celebrates the whole child.

Our school encourages the wonder of learning, where our young humans develop a taste for the thrill and satisfaction that comes from seeking novel solutions to complex problems and uncovering fascinating new questions. Our classrooms are inclusive environments where emerging intellectuals, inventors, mathematicians, techies, musicians, artists, and scientists discover that liminal space between intellect and designed play.

Cheremoya is a collaborative community that honors the contributions of students, teachers, parents, and community members. Parent involvement is welcomed and an integral piece of our school community. Through generous donations from parents and community members, we are able to provide enrichment in visual and performing arts, gardening, and physical education. Our students receive an assets-based educational experience that is personalized, culturally relevant, and responsive, which builds on the strengths of each of our stakeholders.
