Dear Cheremoya Community,

I am thrilled and honored to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you as the newly appointed Principal of Cheremoya Avenue Elementary. It is with great excitement that I return to the familiar halls where I once had the privilege of teaching.

Although I began my teaching career here at Cheremoya, I spent a significant portion of my career dedicated to the field of special education. Working closely with students with diverse learning needs has enriched my understanding of the unique strengths and challenges that each learner brings to the classroom. This experience has deeply influenced my educational philosophy, and I am committed to ensuring that every student at Cheremoya receives the support and resources they need to thrive.

My journey in LAUSD has been one of growth, learning, and dedication. As a former teacher, I had the pleasure of witnessing the incredible potential and passion that exists within our students. Now, as your Principal, I am committed to fostering an environment that nurtures this potential, encourages creativity, and provides a foundation for success.

For those who may not know me yet, my name is Sara Lucas, and I bring with me a deep love for education and a commitment to the success and well-being of every student. Over the years, I have seen the incredible strengths of our school community, and I am excited to work collaboratively with parents, students, and staff to build upon these strengths.

As we embark on this new school year together, my goal is to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and inspired to reach their full potential.
